I'm sick! I gave up my buck 703 at the air port in March and just found out Buck doesn't make
them any more. Thought I'd buy a new one cause I've carried mine for thirty years at least. Just sick! I did buy a 119 last week for the tool box (they didn't have a 703 in the display). I've never found another knife I liked like the 703. I think it was the best classy tool I've ever
owned. "sad". I carried that knife long enough to have had it replaced for free on a walk in at the Elcajon factory. They gave me a rebuilt cause I broke a blade, I promptly burnt the end off
the main blade shorting some wires, sharpened it up and carried it until last March.
I've really missed not having it in my pocket these last few weeks, realizing how much I used it. Now it's going to take some looking at whats out there cause it's hard to replace a friend like that, I really liked that knife.

Luckily in this day an age, you have thousands upon thousands of options for pocket knifes. Grab a nice Victorinox and a Sebenza and youll be set for the next 30 years.

It's a sure bet that someone on the Buck subforum here has one they might be willing to part with, if you get yourself a gold membership you'll be able to ask if anyone has one.

If the Buck 703 was your favorite knife nothing else will do, no larger modern folder or any other form of stockman will be acceptable.
I think you'll just have to get another one.

For future reference, you don't have to lose your knife just because you forgot & got to the security check with it. Tell them you have it, and that you want it shipped to you. They overcharge for the service, and it takes about 2 weeks for the knife to arrive; but it's better than just giving it to them.

There are a lot of options out there that i’m sure you will grow to love. Not even neccesarily Buck. Not even necessarily a traditional. Give a different knife a chance. I hope you find your new knife.

He doesn't need a gold membership to post a WTB ad in the correct subforum.

There are other posts there, but you can't see them due to not being of a gold membership or higher. Put up an ad and see if it yields a bite.

Good luck on your search, I hope you are able to find something that you like.

So sorry to hear this! My 703 is about the same age. I received it as a gift and carried it for quite a while. It's now semi-retired but it is an outstanding knife. I need to put it back in my rotation.

You might also consider posting over in the Traditional Forum to see if anyone has one they'd like to let go of.

Check the big on-line auction site. You may be able to find a used Buck 703 to replace the one you lost at a reasonable price.

Hmm I thought he did, good to know I was wrong.
Now he knows he can and hopefully will be able to get himself another 703.

might find his for sale.....:)

OP, if you really want another 703, and I can understand why you do (I've got three of them), check out allaboutpocketknives.com The last time I looked, there was one for sale there. I've also seen them on ebay as well.

Sorry, man. Sucks to lose a knife for any reason but especially one you've carried for 3 decades.
