I have found a damn good deal on this knife, and was wondering if any of you had any input into how it performs?

Also if any input could be made in the relative size, as in how it feels, to big/small?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

p.s. Tried to do a search, but the search wasn't working.

The 700 series debuted in 1979, and were a beefier haevy duty version of the existing 300 series slipjoints. Quality was pretty good and they were made "in-house" at Buck from the start, unlike the 300's.

Does that mean that it's big and uncomfortable to carry?

sfs08,
Size is one of those relative issues about which people can dramatically disagree and no one is wrong. If you like it, fine. If I do not care for it, also fine. Anyway, the 703 is certainly more pocket friendly (smaller) than its stablemate, the model 701. I suggest the following to everybody who has questions about Buck knives: Join the Buck Collectors Club!!! The website alone is worth the fee. You will find detailed articles on most all of the Buck models (especially older knives) archived in past club newsletters. In this case, I wrote a detailed article about the 700 series and it may be found in the June 2003 newsletter. I think it would answer a lot of your questions.
Best regards,
Larry
