Buck 704 in stag!

I just found me a buck 704 with beautiful stag handle scales. THe scales i can tell have been epoxied because there are not rivets but the work is absolutely oustanding. Totally flawless. Is this an aftermarket piece of work or is this someting that the custom shop might have done? the year stamp is the foreward slash / (can someone tell me what year that is?)
