Buck 704

I got a Buck 704 off of Ebay awhile ago and the blade on it has been worn down considerably. Everything else is in pretty good condition, so my question is, could/would Buck put a new blade on it for me for a nominal cost?

They should be able to with out a problem, You could contact Joe Houser and ask him if there would be an issue. The blade change may even be covered under warranty you never know.

I'm sorry to say that we are all out of most parts for the 700 series. The main blade for a 704 is on that list. I wish I had a solution. I do occasionally have guys send in their favorite 700 (or 300 series) knife, along with a donor knife for parts. As long as they are the same vintage, we can take parts from one to fix the other. Just a thought.

On a popular auction site beginning with 'e'. Occasionally you'll see blades for sale (blade only); but more regularly you'll see 700 series knives that may have damaged scales and/or bolsters that you can pick up for cheap. Either a 703 or 704 main blade will work.
