I have a Buck Whittaker 751T that has really bad side to side blade play. It has never been disassembled and the pivot screw is as tight as it gets. It appears to only have one bronze washer, which I assume is normal but it's so loose that it almost seems like there should be a washer on the other side. Is it worth sending in for service?

I used to. It's an inexpensive knife. I don't recall the blade play. I think Dogpound has some.

Did you purchase it new? Has it always had the blade play?

Yes bought it new, very little use, just basically was attached to a kit. I never noticed it before, but again it was used very little. I don't like partially serrated blades in general, and the serrations on this are really aggressive and useless.
