We talked about this model back in May 2016 when it was announced. At the time my comment was less than complimentary but since then I've looked at it a few more times and was wondering if any one has acquired one? Apparently they are restricted to either LEO or military though I don't know why?

Perhaps because it's not readily available or maybe I've mellowed in my opinion of it but I think I'd kind of like one to add to the collection.

It's on Buck's website. Not sure if I can link that or not?

Never mind. Thanks JB.

Kinda of makes me think of a Buck 120 and a Woodsmans Pal having a baby.

yes Sir.

yeah it does......kinda also reminds me just a tad of the froe......

It is about 15" tip to tail and scary with all the sharp surfaces. I have used on around the house and it does a good job. About the same length as a Froe but much wider from edge to backbone. It started life as an exclusive, but I think we changed that. I will double check on that point. Great brush knife.

I have been watching that knife myself and hoped to get one at some point. I just have to fit it in the budget somehow between all the others I find.

Let me guess Mike. Ivory with a chipflint blade? That would be wicked.

Found this on the web. Buck Knives Talon and their new Half Talon.

I cannot find any other info on it such as size or the model number etc.

I like it but have no real use for it. I did find a website selling them which I believe was the original retailer it was designed for. It could be an issue in same states due to the knife edge on top and bottom of the blade

Why is it for Active Duty Military, Police, Fire, Emt's only? Not one of them can carry that on the job?

didnt think of that point. makes me realize i dont know the rules for my own sheriff office, let alone ca rules.

I can carry that in CA. It has to be exposed. If it folded I can carry it concealed...The Military can't carry it because it's not "GI" and they'd be out of uniform. Everyone else would have to have their supervisors OK to carry it which wouldn't happen, they're already carrying a gun, baton, pepper spray, stun gun, large folding knife...Could you imagine a Fireman showing up with one of those? It's too cumbersome and when would they ever need it? Same as an EMT?

To be honest with you, I think it's a marketing ploy. Build up the anticipation of it being released to the public, then Bamm!!!
