Got back from my business trip in Germany and this had already come in the mail

Thing is absurd and heavy and I love it!

This is not something I would have ever pegged as being made by Buck but I think it shows that they are perfectly capable of not only doing the traditional designs we love but that of the more "modern" look. I kinda hope that they can put more stuff like out.

congrats on your newest there, Sir.

I like them but kinda wish they didn't do the serrated bit on the blade side.....I dont find any use for that myself.

I hear that. I figured it was purely for aesthetics as the serrations are too broad for any type of wood; maybe aluminum like the older Air Force survival knives?

yeah the back side...I dont mind those...more than partial serrations on the blade side I find useless.....but guess truth be told the backside super serrations are kinda useless for me too.

..but visually I dont mind those myself.

It's impractical and definitely the least useful knife I own but I'd agree the aesthetics of these are something else. Especially when you hold one in person. Agree with what you said about the serrations.

I have not found a use for the sawteeth, but it’s not a big deal for me. This is a swinging tool like a billhook and as long as I am not stabbing I need now worry about snagging the big teeth. There still plenty of real estate up front for batoning. The rest of the knife is very well done. I like the use of 5160, the sculptured grips and the solid tang.

I keep missing out on getting them. They were at a decent price on the web specials but was too late to order one. The BOTM version was very nice with blue grips

Me too, I really want one and would pay a premium but nothing to be bought

The sheath is a lot better than the Cold Steel SecurRex junk or the cheap Ontario Rat nylon stuff. I like that you can remove it from the webbing and directly attach it to your pack. But, if it is a problem, you could always upgrade to custom kydex.

I don’t know about the others you mentioned.I do know I can’t stand Bucks sheath for the 808. Yeah, I will end up having a an open spine kydex sheath made.;)
