Buck 819 signature series

Here again a question from The Netherlands. :rolleyes: Since a week I'm a proud owner of the 819 signature series (Limited Edition, I've got# 328) and....what a knife it is!! This knife really is a beauty!! Are there any people out there who have already field experience with this knife? Is the steel really so strong as stated?? Are there already any test reports available???
Is the S30V steel which Buck uses for this knive the same steel as the cpm s30v steel as Chris Reeve is (going to) use for his knife-range? (See this link :

howdy ad58,
i have a non sv30 verson and it is indead a very good looking knife! that 30 steel is very good, i used another knife with it and worked great! edge is a bit hard to sharpen compared to 420 but not bad. i saved my 819 for a collector not a user so sv30 was not an issue.

this was not one you could get in cat. it has a
"HHBuck and Son"

i have the larger verson it is nice looking and feels great to hold in a useing maner but mine is for saveing...
