Has anyone else had a problem with the 835 blade hitting and resting on the center stand-off when the knife is folded?

I didn't notice in the shop and I was reluctant to take it back for a refund as it was the last one. All else seemed fine so I just needle-filed a 1/16th curve out of the stand-off for the blade to fit in and resharpened.

This is my first Buck, and a few months on I do like it a lot. It's a good solid pocket knife and it stays pretty sharp. Of course I'd rather have bronze washers and a removable pivot pin.

I did find the handle a little slippy on occasion, so I jimped the scales and the top of the bolsters. Grips perfect now.

Sounds like you did a good job of personalizing the knife.
The Selkirks are very nice knives. I just wish they made them in the potato state.

The washers and pivot pin were just a wish.

Agreed about making them in the US though.

I'll try a photo:

Nice photos and repair job. It's unfortunate when a knife has either a design flaw or an assembly problem that causes the blade to contact a standoff. The early Vantages had this problem caused by a loose barrel spacer. In slipjoints and lockbacks, sometimes the kick can be ground down too far causing blade rap on the back spring.

My vantage pro 20cv had that problem with the middle stand off. I filed a groove in it to allow blade clearance just as you did. It’s all good now but I would think that would be caught in the testing and buildup stage at the factory. I sent a message to Buck but never heard back.
