Looking closely at a Buck 841 Sprint Pro with S45VN blade and marbled CF handle. I was also looking at the 590 or 591 Paradigm, but I keep gravitating back to this Sprint Pro for my next totally unnecessary acquisition. I like the size, shape and weight; I’ve handled a Sprint Ops recently and loved the action, so I’m assuming (hoping) the action on this one is similar. It checks a lot of my boxes, and it looks like a good price for an American-made flipper with S45VN steel. And I don’t have any
Bucks yet. So I’m wondering if anybody’s got one, or any of the 841 models, what do you think of it?

I have the one with the brown micarta handle. I like it a lot, smooth action and good fit/finish. For me though, the Vantage always seems to be what makes it back into my pocket.

I have the cf Sprint they used to make with red hardware. I adore this knife!

I'm fine with s30v, but the fact they went with s45v on the new stuff is stellar!

It's lightweight, and has plenty of cutting power in a smaller blade. The filework on spine adds some traction and grace. The carbon fiber is some of the best I've seen.

Also critique I have heard is people complaining how thin the liner lock is, granted it's true it's thin, but they hardened it and very strong is how Buck designed it.

Thank you everyone for your feedback! I love the looks of the new marble cf handle and the S45VN steel, all in all the whole package is worth the few $$$ more than previous models. This knife has made its way to the top of The List, ahead of a couple of other Bucks and cheaper stuff I’ve been looking at with S35VN. It’s in my KC wish list, and it’s all I can do to not grab that credit card right now. Both sides of my brain are arguing with each other - Why right now? Why
NOT right now?!

I’ve have the burlap micarta model. S30V blade. It’s the smoothest ball bearing flipper knife I’ve ever owned regardless of the brand. The blade in this thing absolutely floats open and closed. It flips open effortlessly. One of the most favorite knives that I own. 207F52A1-917D-4616-B32B-8597A467BC8A.jpeg

Well, I did it. After a few days of hemming and hawing, the order has been placed with KC. My cockeyed reasoning for ‘needing’ this knife: #1, of all the versions of this model, I prefer everything this one offers over the others, from the S45VN steel, to the marble CF handle, to the blackened hardware, to the bearing pivot flipper and liner lock. #2, I t’s slightly smaller and lighter than my Blur, which is great for out in the yard, but kind of overkill when I’m out and about; and doesn’t have the pocket-shredding textured grip that the Blur has. But it’s also larger than the other EDC options in the drawer, which are a tad in the small side for EDC when I’m out and actually wearing pants. It is a little more than I wanted to spend on my next knife, but it should be my perfect carry and hopefully satisfy my thirst for new knives for awhile. If nothing else, it’s sure to be around a lot longer than me.

Thanks again for everyone’s input!

I've got one of the lesser versions of the Sprint and really like everything about it except that blasted pocket clip. Am I the only one that feels like that clip is a big old hot spot?
