Picked one of these up a couple of months ago and here is what I think of it so far. I'll start by saying that it is the only flipper I own, and that's because I don't like flippers in general. I guess the reason I purchased it was solely because it looked so cool, and I had been thinking about getting one of the more expensive sprint knives. I got this one for the bcci price.

The fist thing I noticed out of the box was how heavy it was. I was a little shocked by a knife named "sprint pro" that was a good deal heavier than my g10 722. The blade is beefy and is very heavy at the pivot. I believe this helps it "flip".

I have taken the knife to the woods and work everyday since purchase, as my 722 is still off at the factory. A couple of other things I don't like about it before I go on to the good stuff.

1.When you drop it, it opens.
2. The handle profile is small. I have larger than medium hands. Sometimes it's hard to hold the knife while effectively opening it. It can not open, or open while flying out of my hands.
3. The lock spring on this liner lock is only about 1/16" I do hope it maintains its tension for the life of the knife.
(EDIT) 4. The clip pushes the knife to the center of your pocket. I like to tuck my knife all the way to the right of my right pocket. Not very often, all the way left. This clip pushes the knife to the middle of your pocket.

The design of the blade makes it a much better work knife than a woods knife. Buck call the blade a drop point, but it is almost a sheepsfoot. My 112 was able to make much better puncture cuts as expected.

At work, it is a nice knife to have. One hand open and closure is important to me and this knife has no issues opening or closing with either hand. The blade was sharp from the factory and handles all thicknesses of insulation for me. It is a really good utility knife.

Overall a good knife. Even with the few issues I have with it, it will stay in rotation. It is fun to flip and the s30v takes a lot of abuse. All things being said, I am glad I purchased it when I did, and if you are able to find one for a good price you may want to grab it.

The Sprint imo is the best budget usa made blade out there currently. Very nice write up and report on use. I'd add my concern also was like you the thin liner lock, but Buck clarified when I asked them it's just as strong as the Vantage locks because it's hardened.

Even at the top of the line cf versions, you can't beat the pricing. For a domestic knife with the steel, materials, and warranty, I see little competition. Spyderco Para2 and BM 940 are all I can think of around the same price and those are for the standard models, crazy how much they have gone up.

So in the end, I love the Sprint, I'm one to sing it's praises, glad to see some other fans out there!

I have one older and newer of the models

When we're they selling those coffee mugs?

When I first got my Sprint Micarta Pro a couple of years back I dropped it accidentally and it also opened when it hit the ground. I emailed Buck just to ask them about it and they told me to send it in so they could take a look at it. A couple weeks after sending it in to Buck it was back in my hands. Honestly I can’t remember if they fixed my knife or replaced it. Either way, after trying to recreate the accidental opening a few times without success I called it all good.

My two favorite knives. The CF Sprint Pro had been my single favorite, but right now if I had to pick one over the other, I think my brain would explode. I just love ‘em both.

I carry some $500-600 knives, and yet I enjoy my 841 Sprint Pro CF in S45VN almost as much. It’s a darn fine knife as long as you don’t full-on torque on the blade like a prybar, and it flexes the pivot within the scales.

BennyBlade, nice write up and photos!

(BTW, how does one change the formatting to summon another user? I want to type "BennyBlade" for example and have a link to that particular user so he knows he's being mentioned.)

Based on an exchange I had with DocJekl a few weeks ago, I finally ordered one and it arrived last week. Just in time to help carve my son's pinewood derby car for Cub Scouts. No photos of the car, but this knife was comfortable to use with work gloves, and easy to control. I tend towards more traditional knives, but I have a few more modern designs. This is my only flipper, and I really like its lines visually, and how it feels in my hand. Great knife!

Please excuse that random off-brand slippie in the photo.

Type a ‘@‘ before the user name. That will bring up a list of users (just one if you type the full name), then just tap on the name you want and it will insert a link for that user. Once you post your reply, that user will be alerted that they’ve been at’ed.
