Hi all,
This is my first post here. I've been lurking around for a while soaking up all the great info.

Anyway, I just acquired a Buck 882 (the old non-G10 model) and the liner locks to the far right side of the blade. I thought I remembered reading somewhere in here that that's an anomaly and it should be right in the middle of the blade? Is this something that I should try and have fixed or is it more of a picky detail issue? There isn't any play in the blade and the liner seems secure where it stops (won't move any further to the right). I would post a pic but apparently my membership level doesn't permit that. Thanks for any help.

The liner lock on my 882 goes all the way to the right too. Hasn't given me any trouble and I'm sure that's the way it was meant to work. I have an older Buck CrossLock & it operates in the same fashion.

My SBT locks up just right of center. Has not caused any problems yet. The big question is how quickly will it wear to the point that the lock up is compromised. Other than the "wimpy liners" as compared to the my 880 tanto Strider/Buck, I like my SBT.

I guess I'll just use it like normal and keep half an eye on it to make sure it stays solid in the long term. If not, I'm sure they can take care of it.

I have used this knife for almost one year and its lock hasn't move from position (when open ;) ). Works the same way like in the beginning...full confidence to the lock besides its size :D
Great knife
