I guess I am hard headed. This is nothing like the other Bucks I collect. Heck, I don't even have a Nighthawk (650/655). It just looks nice - and, the fellow was a great up & coming knifemaker. I hope his widow can continue his 'legacy'.

I guess I am wondering what the actual thickness of the tang - blade is; ie, how stout is it? How is the fit in the holster? Does it really 'rattle', as one owner suggested? Is it secure enough to keep the knife in it's sheath at odd angles? How is the overall quality?

My son gave me a Gerber LMFII for Papa's day - add that to my old KaBars and a couple of John Greco's 'specials' and that's it here for tactical. Something about that Simonich/Buck... Opinions??

Okay, I'll make it simpler - how thick is the blade? Anyone have one and a caliper or micrometer? Thanks!

I lied... there's more - while you have it out, how secure is it's fit in the sheath? Thanks!

Maybe I really don't need one... the last fellow to praise his on here seems to have been banned. It really isn't my usual 'cup-o-tea', anyway... I am more of a 110 kinda guy... okay, I like 'regular' fb knives, too. I was, however, quite impressed with a friend's Busse knives yesterday. You know, this 'hobby' could get expensive. Yeah, like it hasn't passed that mark yet.

Hi, have received the knife - Buck Simonich Raven Legacy about a week ago. To be honest I was not that angry for a long time! I opened the box together with Buck Pathfinder box and the Pathfinder seems to be two classes above the Raven! I am used to that my new blades are usually hair shaving but not the Raven, it had hard times even to cut paper

The sheath is pure junk, cannot call it differently. The knife is much nicer. It might be made in the u.s., but the sheath you could compare to sheaths that you find with 10 dollars knifes from china. I am not kidding here.

On the other hand I like the looks and design of the knife. Of course, that is why I have purchased it. I was thinking that I will just send it back to the dealer, but I have decided that I will use it. I have never really used a 200 dollars knife before, so now the knife will have a chance to show how it works;) I start to like it (only the knife), but as I mentioned above the first impression was just terrible. The back of the knife is 3,2 millimeter thick (sorry don’t know it in inches). Overall I would not buy it for such price again, but I gave it a chance to persuade me otherwise;)

Btw I just saw you have mentiond busse knives. I have order a DC Dumster Mud - from scrapyard. I hope DCDM will make up what I have expected from the Raven. We will see...
