The recent post on the Custom Shop offer of various lightly customized 916 Bowie models made me realize that this was yet another Buck I don't know much about. I believe I saw a high end one for sale at The Knife Center a few years back, but I didn't know anything about Bucks at the time.

Do any of you members of the forum collect these? I've been able to find a few other pictures posted here, so I'll repost those to get this thread started. Hopefully more 916's come out of hiding.

I shamelessly borrowed these from Mike Kerins, who posted them on the Forum a few years ago:

I found one other thread on 916s here, that has some nice pictures. It seems to be a knife frequently customized.

Buck has this highly customized version on their web site for a cool $900!

I do have a few 916s I can share with you. I love the looks of these, but the handle's way to small IMHO.

Just so you can see what I'm saying about the handle size (I have average size hands)

Interesting, because I have large hands but even so the one thing I don't like about the 124 Frontiersman is the grip, which is like holding on to the big end of a baseball bat.

One too big, one too small ... sounds like Goldilocks and the Three Buck Bowie Knives.

Thanks for all those pictures!

dr0,

The 916 you posted in your OP has a longer handle than any of the rest, it's the perfect size for this knife. James, your CA Bowie is awesome still need to find one. Here is one more 916 to add to this thread (always liked DB).
