Buck 941 TravelMate - Paperstone question

I've been out of the loop for a few years, but just picked up a TravelMate set and had a question. Does Buck's Paperstone material work like micarta? I prefer a more rounded handle profile than this thing comes with. How does Paperstone look if you start reshaping it?

I'm no expert on paperstone. We have Buck's kitchen cutlery set and are pleased with them for 2yrs. now. But I've not sanded them like micarta. I would think it could be done. DM
