Hi,

I want to ask someone who knows if this is a genuine Buck knife, or just a replica, i'm worried because on the blade there is engraved only BUCK not BUCK usa like on the second picture which is a picture from a BUCK dealer

It sure looks bad, doesn't it? Maybe there's some distortion from the photos and scanning, but it still looks highly suspicious.

You should give more details about the seller and how you came to this point.

I did a search here on Buck Forum for "970" and found a number of threads you might find useful. From what I read, the knife should have the serial number engraved on the right side of the blade. You might want to ask for a pic of the serial number.

I believe that the knife is stamped on both sides of the tang. BUCK, usa on left side and BUCK on the right. In the picture, the left side stamp is obscured by glare. You might want to request a clearer picture.

FWIW, I've dealt with this seller several times before and had no problems. However, when spending this much money it certainly doesnt hurt to be cautious.
