As part of all things Buck, I have a beginning interest in old Buck ads, classic style and in old or odd places. Here is a 22 year old small ad in the local paper from a small central Texas town where my mothers people are from. The store is a farm/feed store. You got anything interesting to show along these lines ?

ITE,
Yes, I knew you had a collection and enjoy seeing it before and now. Because of your collection, I look in all old outdoor mags now for ads. I enjoy the old one's for their classic look.
What caught my eye was this one was a local newpaper ad and was from an old newspaper that was kept because it published my mothers high school reunion information and a copy of her old high school class photo (1943), on the back of that notice was the ad. I considered that "interesting' coincidence between her old high school information and my current buck-a-phobia......300Bucks

Its interesting in the ad Buck gives the address of Magnolia St. in El Cajon. They must have had 2 different locations in El Cajon.Because I thought they were at Morena St. near downtown San Diego in the early 70's.Then in 1980 moved to El Cajon.? DM

Yes, but thats doing his own thing. Some designer contract work w/ Buck but not like any warranty work.DM

We moved into the Magnolia plant in 1968 I think. From there everytime we added a new family of knives we would have to rent a new building to house it because our entire shop on Magnolia was devoted to 110's (circa 1978 and my first inside job with Buck working in Dept. 01 (aka 110's/112's). At one point we have 7 different buildings which were all consolidated into the Weld Blvd facility which was our final california address.

We do not have a shop in San Diego except for Wild Bill's workshop.

No warranty work for him, he is just one of there custom knife makers that didn't want to move to Post Falls... That is just what I hear... We still have to pay sales tax in CA. when we buy knives from Buck... Next time I go see Leroy, I'll try and stop by the old Buck Factory and talk to Wilde Bill... Like I said, It's just what I hear... ...

Thanks CJ, now I know why we pay sales tax in CA. on Buck knives when we order or buy them from Post Falls...
