I have(had) three Buck alpha 279's and they all seem to be a little different.

1st one has hex scale screws

2nd one had torx scale screws

3rd one has a hex shaped lanyard hole for what ever reason. Im assuming its a built in nut wrench. The other two are just plain round lanyard holes.

Was there changes to the frame throughout its production? It seems the one I used to own was heavier than the current two I have but I have nothing to compare it to.

Thanks,
Doug

Buck at times used the frame from their CSAR-T model for the Alpha Hunter as that frame is sold with a nut driver set and it is inserted in the end where a lanyard hole would be. The two frames are interchangeable. DM

Doug, Thanks. It takes some time studying Buck models to realize what's going on. Then other collectors input helps. DM
