Thought my fellow Bucknuts would enjoy this photo of my Pathfinder and Kodiak Hunter. Both purchased in 1975. :)

Any other archers here?

I love that pic, makes me want to sting mine up and shoot. I have several old Bear bows as well. My oldest is a late 50's but it doesn't look safe to shoot anymore. I can't recall the model but I think it is an Alaskan? or Polar or something like that. My favorite is a 1964 grizzly and I have a 64 102 woodsman as well so I need to get a picture of that pair. I also have a late 60's early 70's Kodiak Hunter and Grizzly.
I used to shoot all the time, but I have 3 kids from 7 to 15 that all play basketball and between their games and ball practices and work, I haven't had enough time to shoot enough to be confident to hunt with a recurve or longbow, so when I get to hunt, I just grab a compound or crossbow(legal in my state) where I can just take a few shots to make sure the sites are on and go to my stand. I have been meaning to get back to shooting my recurves more.

Okay, jec, enough talk, I need photos! :D Sounds like you have some wonderful bows. Feel free to add them to this thread and don't forget to include your Woodsman.

My bow is still in great shape, but I only shoot target with it now. Not much of a bowhunter anymore.

Here's my Buck & Bear combo. I thought the Compound + Ergohunter would be a nice play on the Recurve + 105.

No... you don't need a $1,000 bow to kill deer.

Okay, Haebbie, you're in first place for photo of the year. Forget the bow. Beautiful horse!

Agreed. Haeb, that horse is almost a 'Medicine Hat' horse. Is his right eye a moon eye? DM

Thank you, guys.

His name is Mick Mac Sunshine. His medicine head has no moon eye. But he's a great horse.
He is 23 years old and fit as a fiddle. He was one of the first paint horses in Eastern Germany.

The first bow I shot from his back roundabout 15 Years ago was a green Kodiak Magnum.

Great pictures! I have a few I'll get on later this morning. I'm a pretty low tech man so it takes me awhile to post a picture. I have a huge roundabout way of posting a pic and according to my wife and daughter, there is a much easier and simpler way, but I have yet to figure it out.

David, nice set-up. How old is your bow? I don't know Bear bows well enough to determine its age from the photo. I believe Bear moved from Grayling to Gainesville in 1978. My bow is stamp Grayling.

Haebbie, my family has owned Quarter horses since 1966. My 87 year-old father still rides. Curious, did Mick Mac spook the first time you shot the bow from his back?

jec, looking forward to those photos.

That's a nice combo. I must admit I love the softer grind lines on the older knives.

1964 or 1965 Bear Zebrawood Grizzley and about the same year buck 102 Woodsman(pinned).

I think this is a 1957 Fred Bear Polar and about a 1967 110 Hunter.

Early 70's Kodiak Hunter with about a 1969 and about a 1971 110 hunter

Quarters are great! My wife was one of the first who bred Paints and Quarters in Germany. Micky - as we call him - had no Problems with bow shooting. First arrows I shot aside of his corral. He came and had a look what I was doing there. The next I shot at his side but gave him an arrow first. It was funny to see the horse with the arrow cross his mouth. Short time later the arrow was in parts. Next arrows I shot from his back while he was jogging around a straw bale - my target. The horse never balked when I was Shooting from his back. We used him for turnaments for hungarian horse back archery. Some People offered a lot of money for Micky. I never saw a horse that was as cool as he is.

jec,

Thanks for the awesome photos! You have some real jewels there in bows and knives. Really like the Zebrawood Grizzly. Do you have a favorite bow and knife?

Not sure if we have anything like that in the U.S., but it sounds like fun.
