My wife's huge extended family has their Christmas dinner on the Saturday before, then they all spend Christmas Day with their own smaller families. So last night we all got together, but the planning was not what it might have been. Plenty of food but no plastic knives or spoons, only forks.Wimpy forks at that.
Eating ham with only a very cheap plastic fork is a problem, so out came the Buck 55 from my left pocket. This drew a look of disgust from my wife, who disapproves of pocket knives at the table. I started to pull the Buck Vantage from my right pocket for her to use but she stopped me. Then I noticed my brother in law using a sweet vintage Case 2-bladed traditional folder on his ham. He is a Case fan, even named his dog "Case."
Other people were eating by hand or making sandwiches with their rolls but my brother and law and I ate in style, with no arguing about which brand was best. Let there be peace on earth!
