Buck ASAP

I think Goose is the expert in this field...IIRC, he even knows how to box the parts up for shipping... :p

LOL...not me. I was thinking about taking a 298GY apart...got sand in the gizmo.
Decided not to. Used WD-40, air, hot water, then more air to clean it out.
Works great now.

Sirusly, heard those ASAP knives are easy to take apart but a beach to put back.
But I have no experience to back that up.

Now, those Buck Stider folders...that's another story...love to play "Operation" with those puppies :)

Joe Houser knows I like to play with my knives. When he saw my Sirus he said "dont take that apart Rich, that is a real bear" So I say listen the Joe. :D

I was able to get it back together, took three hands LOL and a lot of patience. So many parts of the knife have to be held together while applying pressure to the springs and closing it up. Had to use an eyeglass screwdriver to position the springs while setting the liners and handle back in place....is it a beach? yes! But now i know that I can do it again if I have too.

Did you happen to get any pictures of the knife while it was open? I sure would like to see what one of those knives look like on the inside.

but i mean no disrespect here but why would ya wanna take apart your knife:confused: I have had knives get gummed/gritted up and had to do as was suggested here with the flushing, etc. but i would personally only take it apart if i had nothing to lose, i.e i really messed up the knife myself
also doesnt taking it apart void any kind of warranty???
Good luck getting it together

One of the springs "sprung" and was no longer seated where it was suppose to be, so I had two options, fix it myself or send it to Buck to be fixed. I figured I would test my patience and try it myself, it payed off. Next time I have it open I will take pics :P Hopefully no time soon.
