Hey everyone,
I was wondering what my axe is age/value, I found a few of the articles on this modle but none seem to reflect the condition of mine. It has a few scratches on one side of the handle but the axe is tight nothing loose. It also has the leather cover which is stamped 106 on the back and Buck on the front. Thanks all...

Hey BSC!
..... Just a few sketchy details for what they are worth.............
1969 production - regular point-up two line stamp - micarta spacers (as they don't look reddish orange in the pics) - long phenolic @3 3/8" length - nice specimen :)
....Value? What the buyer is willing to pay, usually. Price range I have seen.......$105 to $360 for that variation w/out box and or papers and some light use. Time of year tends to greatly vary the price and consider that Joe Houser says when the serious collectors have their fill, the demand is down as well. That makes sense to me too. The BIGGY...what is it worth to you? To optimize your sale, if that is your point, is to find a 106 fan and tempt that person. An auction site listing this week may get you close to the $150 mark as my speculation would indicate, possibly more.
One cool thing of note is that 1969 saw the most single-year permutations of the 106. There at least four, and most likely five, different and distinct 106 designs from that year. The only question is if the black scaled micarta actually started in late '69 of just after '70 rang-in?
Wish I coulda nailed it down better for ya'..........

Dave thanks alot for the info, I don't want to sell it, it's also my dads! I collect Schrades and he has that axe he found in an early spring hike just laying on the ground!!!! Talk about getting lucky, and a 102 he bought in 75'. It's in pretty good shape for the hunting trips it's been on. I had never seen that axe before anywhere so It made me a little curious. Thanks, Again Darren

Hello Darren!
I only 'find' the ones with price tags on 'em, :) that was very fortuitous of Pops! Where did you say that trail was again? ;)
Glad I could help..........Not only are Buck products good property, but the Buck Brothers on this forum are spectacular folks too! Stop by again!
