You're talking about the Buck Bantam BHW, model 286? If so, I've had one for about four months and it's holding up really well. Here are my impressions:
It came out of the box pretty sharp, and was shaving sharp with just a few strokes on a crock stick. The pocket clip was a little loose out of the box, but tightened up with a Torx Tool. The blade holds a really good edge; I've only had to resharpen it once in four months of use, cutting cardboard boxes and rope pretty regularly. I skinned a squirrel with mine a while back. The blade is a good size and shape for general work use, so it would do really well for your EDC. The blade might be a little too big if you're around non-knife people though.
I wouldn't recommend trying to sharpen the swedge on the back of the blade. My friend tried to do so and got a cut from it since the swedge is exposed even when the knife is closed.
The lanyard hole is a good size, although I've never used it. I don't think a knife tip-down in the pocket needs a lanyard unless you're around water, but that's just me. The pocket clip holds the knife where you want it until you decide otherwise. No slipping.
The blade was a little tight when I first got it, but after a week or so of regular use, it was good. I guess you could use some lubricant (I prefer Tough Glide) to break it in.
It's a good knife for EDC, especially at the price you pay. I got mine for $17.60 out the door at the local knife shop.
