Is there a reference somewhere for the model codes on Buck boxes? I know the knife model part, but in a case like this; 0110CCS-B, what is the CCS-B? Reference somewhere on what those letters mean? Or, on a 0110BKSSH3-B, what are the letters after 110 saying?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Going through things to prep for the Harrisonburg, VA show in April. Have too much stuff............

BCCI newsletters have a list of special projects usually in the March edition. I'm not aware of a consolidated list. CCS-B was the cocobolo 110 from Sam's Club, sold as a set with the cocobolo 120. BKSSH3-B was Black micarta exclusive for Shepherd Hills (Copper and Clad) version 3. B=Box, C=Clam.

Here is a repost on this subject I made in September.

Buck model codes follow a format. Not all may be used, The first three and last for sure.

Model# / color / blade edge / dealer (if SFO) / variation # ---packaging

family color group ..BR RD BK BL brown, red black blue etc BR used for cocobolo etc.
look at my post above for 3 different blues.... BLS1 BLS2 BLS3 (the original post was about Slim Selects)

Blade edge S=smooth X= serrated

SFO SM smoky mtn /WM walmart /CC copper clad /BO build out etc (optional field)

variation number lets say C&C had 2 different red 119's phenolic smooth and micarta serrated (made up example) (optional field)
0119RDSCC red smooth blade for C&C
0119RDXCC1 red serrated blade for C&C, 1 designates it is the 2nd different red knife

---B boxed
---C clam pack

Clear as mud? It actually makes alot of sense once you get the hang of it. All will have a uniquely different catalog number, the only true identifier.

Desoto,
Thanks! That helps. I figured there was some rational to it but my guesses weren't helping much.

Appreciate it!
