Why are they so big-the yellow and black ones anyway? I had to pay $10.95 for shipping on the last one i bought as it wouldnt fit in the small flat rate box. It was a little Alpha Dorado.

I almost felt like telling the guy to take the knife out of the box, fold the box in half and send it all in the small flat rate box.

Anyway I wish they would downsize where they can.

I think they only have 4 different size boxes. So if it won't fit in the small one then.....

I've shipped a few knives latley and was thinking the same thing, if buck had smaller boxes that actually fit the knives it would save alot in shipping. The knives are reasonable to ship in a flat rate box but the buck box is what cost $$$$ to ship

Yes and in the last year the price to ship priority mail went up almost 2X:eek:

yes i let the box fold on its crease lines
which is how Joe Houser said is how the boxes were stored before use..
now the LE and two part boxes
are another story..

My biggest peeve is when the seller just sticks the box with the knife inside of it into a padded envelope, slaps an address label on it, and drops it in the mail just like that. Needless to say, the box isn't worth squat to me when it arrives molded around the knife.
I have that happen a few times on knives I bought. The picture shows a good box and it arrives worthless.
