Buck/Cabelas skinner

I just bought an old Buck skinner (not sure of model number) that is on its way. It has a stacked leather handle and an upswept blade. Over all, it looks much like a Marbles Woodcraft. It was reportedly made for marketing by Cabelas. Does anyone know when these knives were produced? I intended to use it as a working knife, but I'm wondering if I should hold it as a collectable? I'll e-mail a pic if anyone wants to see it.
