So I recently picked up a buck 309 and love it! However I also love my case 63032 stockman...I'm at a loss as to which to pick. To make it short I feel a cadet would combine the best of bith, what are your opinions on the cadet and how it performs and carries and over all, thank you!

A while back, I posted a comparison of my Buck Cadet to a Case stockman. Should be easy to find via the search, but if you are looking for a utilitarian pocket knife that will last longer than you may even want it to, the Buck is hard to beat. One advantage the Buck has over other stockmen is the orientation of the blades. I like where Buck positions the sheepsfoot as this is my most used blade on a stockman. I also like the three spring construction. It does not add additional thickness to my eye.

I agree with every point he made. The 303 is hands down my favorite small stockman.

After I retired my Buck 301 stockman after 25 years of faithful service, I carried a Buck 303 cadet for a few years. It was just as great an edc knife as my old 301, just a bit more compact and lighter. All the 300 series Buck pocket knives are the Sherman tanks of pocket knives. They are a go-to pocket knife.

Another vote for the Cadet. I think it's about as large as you can get and still be hardly noticeable in your pocket, even in slacks, while it is also as small as I'm comfortable with while still having enough size to handle most daily tasks. It does a nice job balancing out those opposing factors. It's a great knife!
