Today at Wall Mart I thought I saw a Buck Canoe with a Jigged Bone like scale.
Was I just seeing things? The only Canoe I know of is the wood scale one.

There are several Buck Canoes. Most are China made with only exceptions I’m aware of being two models for A.G. Russell.

I think there have been more than 10 different scale materials used by Buck for the China made canoe model.
Some one on this forum has quite a collection just can't remember who.

I know a lot of folks here find the China made objectionable, but other than the steel not being the same, I’ve found the fit, finish and spring tension to be great. Only exception is a nobleman that came in a gift tin, it has noticeable gaps between scales and bolsters

I have the wood one and I really like it, but I never carry it. It's missing three VERY important letters...

Forgot my pics. It's a good knife to carry and not worry about if it is lost/stolen/confiscated from my luggage at customs....

As stated the Canoes are collected by at least one of our contributing members, Desoto was it you ? The AG Russell canoes are custom orders made with very high end scale material and I believe came signed on the blades by Chuck Buck and AG Russell. I have the Ivory one, as several people here do also, I just could not squeeze the price on the Palau shell scale. Can't think of the third one off the top of my head. They were limited editions, not marked China. I believe they were original liners and bolsters and USA made blades. So they were considered USA made.....300

I have a faux stag one from one of Walmart’s 2017 holiday gift packs. The faux stag feels a bit too plasticky for my taste but is a good knife nonetheless

Great read. I purchased my canoe late last year with the jipped wood. A 2017 and i love it as what i consider a true pocket knife.

The two offered by A.G. Russell had either stag or black lip pearl handles; they are still available on the AGR website. Built outs from excess inventory parts of the Russell knife were sold by Buck and had white ivory (not sure if mastadon or elephant) handles. Every built out that I have seen had cracked scales next to the handle pins.
