On July 15, 1985, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for MODERNE by Buck Knives.
The trademark registration was cancelled by 1993. The handles are Kraton. The flier only mentions that they are made of "incomparable steel". I'm willing to bet this series of knives has the same steel used in the 123/125/127 Kraton handled fillet knives of the same time period.
Thanks Sky, if Buck made them in CONUS then probably 425m. I wonder if they contracted them to another maker. Steel has a patina that suggests tool steel to me.
