I just found an old set of carpenter’s chisels marked “Stag by Buck”.
Were they made by Buck knives?

I’ve seen lots of ones marked Buck Bros. But this set just says Buck

The founders were from Sheffield, England. Buck Bros. chisels and gouges from the 19th and early 20th centuries are excellent tools. I have several from the 19th century that belonged to my great-grandfather and I still use them. The brand was sold years ago, and the current Buck Bros. tools are not in the same class as the earlier tools.

Found an old Norelco shaving bag in my Dad’s stuff. In it was a set of Buck bros. carving chisels. The handles are not round, they have flats top and bottom. It reminded me of this thread. IMG_7088.jpeg

I don’t remember these at all. He must have acquired them after I was an adult. Kind of a travel set? Or a maybe loaner. IDK.
