I just received my first Buck knife for a collection that I'm starting for a grandchild. The first one is a 50th ann. Buck 110. You can take a look at it at this site (I can't post pictures to this forum):

I think that I'll take a look at some of the 300 series for the next few. Got some good tips from this forum (thanks again) and I'm always open to ideas and suggestions are always welcome. I figure that this collection will end up with about a dozen Bucks and will likely take around a year to complete. I'll post progress reports as I obtain each knife - should be fun.

I think a good collection for children or grandchildren should include a knife with the date mark for the year they were born.

To post photos....
Wow, I tried numerous things to embed your photo...none worked...

I like to use photobucket to post photos here.

I'll give Photobucket a try next time. Does anyone know why I can't post pictures on this forum? Is it a membership thing? If there is a moderator that picks up on this could you please provide me some direction. I have to plead computer ignorance, I'm a bumble thumb with these things !!!

Thank you

Registered users (like you and me) have to host photos elsewhere (like photobucket) and embed them.
Higher membership levels (like gold) can upload photos to to the forum directly. (Those are paid memberships)

I have no trouble at all embedding with photobucket. Not sure why the imgur links don't work?

uncleman, on the right side of the screen on imgur there is a BBcode. Just copy and paste it here and that should work. All what is needed is already there.

You know what would be cool....
If you carried (and used) one of the first aquired knives while you collected them.
Then there would be an extra sentimentality to the collection.
one that Grandpa carried.

Here it is

Thanks so much Edbeau- For the next update I'll be sure to do that ! I'm looking forward to my next Buck. Looking around for a couple of birth year knives. Hopefully I'll post some pictures in Part 2, in a month or so.

Thanks again

Hope I helped you and I will be looking for more of your pictures. Save some for the Sunday Picture Show.
