I got a rap up email from Blade Show and see that Buck collectors took three of the four awards.

Congratulations to everyone who displayed there this year!!

Here is a snip from the email;

Knife Collection Display Award Winners

  • Best of Show: Buck Gen Five Josh Buck Skinners, by Brent and Dee Schindewolf
  • Judges Award: Miniatures: Faberge of Firearms, by Tom and Gwen Guinn
  • Judges Award: Buck Factory Production Knives of the 1960s, by Larry Oden
  • Judges Award: Buck 110s, by Jim Seagle

I have a picture of the Seagles in front of their excellent display -

I was a lucky winner at the show as well - I won the minature knife in the small box that was being raffled off - I had already left the show when I received the call so they are shipping the knife to me - I am excited to get it and of course will take pictures for my friends here.

Thanks for the wrap up, thanks for the pics.

What exactly is the knife you won?

I am not exactly sure - I checked it out briefly and bought some of the raffle tickets to help support the club.

It was a very small (1.5 inches total length maybe) fixed blade - maybe a Kalinga style, but the handle was scaled with two different colors of what may have been stone.

I just remember that it would be a very nice addition - and I am hoping to see the knife show up in the mail this coming week!

m, Good photos.......

Knife looked like a Kalinga to me

For those that didn't see it, there is a older Blade Show thread with some photos down the thread line.........300

I've only been "collecting" Buck knives for a couple years. but I've owned and used Buck knives for over 35 years. I have been accumulating certain Buck knives with intentions of building my own display to represent BCCI at some events in the future.

I was not only impressed with the results at Blade Show for the display awards, but very proud to know how well so many Buck collectors represented BCCI and Buck at the event. Great job!!

Thank you mqqn for posting a few pictures of the displays.

OK, for you folks thinking about the future here is a start for a leg up. This is the scoring sheet we judge each others collections on. Created by Larry Oden with consulations. It gives you an idea on how to make a display. Look at this and look at the winning displays and compare. I think there is another write-up by Larry, I think I have it somewhere, but I am pretty sure you can try a search here on building a display and also search the BCCI newsletter, I believe it is in that. Larry will be along to straighten this out. Just remember, don't count on having any electricity. If you think it out well you can get a good start without having "do-overs". You can even make a display that can be used both at knife shows and at home. Like the old cabinet maker said. "Think it all out before you cut any wood." 300
