What's the Buck Collectors Club all about? Would like some info to consider joining. I'd also like to hear back from those of you who are in the Collectors Club for your insight. Thanks!

dak,
The bcc is an organization of Buck enthusiasts who collect Buck knives and who have a great comaraderie with one another. Our quarterly newsletter contains all sorts of articles about Buck knives and the history of this family owned enterprise. Our club knives are beautiful and the Buck company sponsers an annual display extravaganza at the Blade Show in Atlanta. We also have a fall regional show at the Cincinnati NKCA show in Covington, KY. Members of the club have a WIDE range of collecting interests including the following categories: Pre-factory production, factory standard production, Yellowhorse, Buck Custom knives, Harley Davidson knives, Prototypes-Oddities-one of a kinds, Limited edition and etched blades, etc.
The BCC is certainly the most active and visible factory sponsored club in existance at this time. Club members have won the best of show display award at the Blade Show every year since about 1991 or so.
If you would like a sample newsletter, email your address to jhouser@buckknives.com and Joe will send you one. I don't think he will mind me volunteering his services since he is our club administator!
One of the good things about collecting Buck knives is that even the pre-factory production knives are still in circulation. You may find one at a flea market or garage sale which has continued to be used since the 1940s or 1950s. Then, the factory production knives which I collect are much more available. Now there are certain models which are hard to find, but a diligent collector can assemble an awfully nice collection in a reasonable amount of time without going into bankruptcy.
The best part of the BCC, though, is the people. Now every groug has some grouches,
but on the whole, the people who collect Buck knives are among the nicest people you will ever meet. People who compete with each other for display awards can be routinely found helping each other acquire needed knives and helping each other improve their display.
Join today!! If you send me your address I will be glad to mail you a BCC application.

Dak,

Larry summed up the BCC very well. We have a wonderful group of very active members. I highly recommend joining, you won't be sorry!A 15 year anniversary celebration is in the works for the summer of 2003. It will be held at the Buck plant in El Cajon, CA. This event alone is worth joining for as there will be workshops and tours of the plant. We held a 10 year get together in July 1998 and I will never forget it.

dak,

I would be more than happy to send you a copy of our last newsletter. I have to agree with everything Larry said about the club. What a nice bunch of people! My wife loves to attend the shows too so she can visit with the members. (of course now she wants to collect too and that can cause a problem with the bank account!)
Send me your adress and i will send you an aplication and a newsletter for your perusal.

Take care,

My opinion here almost seems like overkill but I concur with all said. The Buck Collector's Club are just great people.

I am looking forward to seeing the group at the upcoming blade show.
