I couldn't resist the chance of a bit of "ribbing"!!! :D

I've never heard of the "Combat Smatchet"...but it sounds interesting...

(I've heard of entrenching tools being used in combat...why not a hatchet?)
 
The only Smatchet I've ever heard of is a Boker knife not a Buck knife. It's a big thick heavy combat utility knife designed by Col. Applegate.
 
From the thread linked above it appears Buck discontinued it quite some time ago. If I'm not mistaken Boker does currently make it, or did within the last 5 years. I have a catalogue from 2001 that has it as a member of the Boker line.
