Anybody bother collecting these things other than me? These are the gift sets that have 2 cheap knives in them. They are often exclusive to Walmart or Cabella or companies like that. They are in a plastic clamshell package, which makes them very inconvenient to store. There is a wide variety of the scenery on the gift tin. They are still Buck knives and they still have the Buck warranty. Also, many of these models are exclusive to the set. Here is a list of what I've seen so far. I put the lowest number first, even though they might not be marketing like that. Are there any other ones of which I should be aware? I have all but three on this list. [missing: 241/242, 369/370, 380/382]. I know there are also gift tins for one knife products but I am not including them here.

I don't collect them, but nice list. Are any of these sets made in the USA - and not of "imported parts" ?

Thank you

The ones I have are all from China. One reason I collect Buck knives is because a lot are US made. But these are designed to met a low price point, so Buck outsourced them to China.

425/482 is USA made.

3 others not on your list that I have are 385/388, 327/375 and 325/327.

These were also made:

248/375
206/207
253/254
332/333
356/357
375/388
213/382
867/868
373/375/379
Thanks. That explains why I had to pay almost double for 425/482.

So here is a more consolidated list, with input from Forum so far. Now there are 13 sets I don't have. Note: My 379/389 is in a clamshell but does not include a tin.

Nice list! How's that 372 muskrat? I have one muskrat from another maker, and I'm starting to warm up to the pattern. I think the 2-bladed 301's that have been coming out broke the ice for me.

I have a 303 in my pocket that came in a gift tin. A few years back, Buck did a run of Boone and Crockett slippies. The first year, there was a tin for a 301, and a combo tin for a 303/309. That year, they had paperstone scales. The finish on mine is inconsistent. It's hard to tell from my potato-quality photo, but the 309 has a gloss finish, the 303 is matte where the scales were sanded flat, and the 301 is somewhere between gloss and matte. All feel great in the hand. Some of my favorites. I wish they still made paperstone and option.

Thanks. I added that to my list. That 303/309 is going to be hard to find sealed in the original container, I think. But I think, now, it is the one I want the most. I might start a list of single knife collector/gift tin Buck products too.

You could try asking Larry Oden. Early in my time in this forum, someone mentioned his name. I've been able to get a few knives from him, and got my 303/309 set in original packaging from him. He's very knowledgeable, kind, and easy to deal with.
