My dad has an old Buck Creek pocket knife that has both blades broken. I've tried to find Buck Creek's web site to find out if they could repair the keepsake, but have had no luck. Does anyone know if Buck Creek is part of a bigger knife maker or how I may contact them? Worse case.....does anyone know of a reliable knife repair shop that I could send the knife to? I prefer to send it to the original maker. Any help is appreciated.

Taylor Cutlery was the distributor for Buck Creek knives. I used to collect them. As for repair, I doubt they do that kind of work. There are usually some ads for knife repair in the back of Blade Magazine. I will look up the address for Taylor Cutlery when I get home tonight. Not sure if they have a website.

I just did a search on Yahoo and it looks like Frost Cutlery has picked up the Buck Creek trademark. Looks like having it returned to anywhere near original is out of the question, unless one of the private repair guys could do it. Good luck. Sorry about those broken blades :(

Buckcreek were made in Solingen, taylor may be able to tell you who actually produced it.

I believe Buck Creek is an Olbertz contract, one of the bigger Solingen makers. Buck Creek has passed through a lot of hands since it's inception.

I would first check and see weather Taylor Cutlery still owns the trademark, or weather it transferred to Frost. They might be willing to let you trade it in for a new knife, but that ruins the "Keepsake" value:(.

I personally believe your best bet is a private cutler/repairman. Be warned though, good one's are hard to find, and relatively high dollar. I'd ask Mr. Levine who he would recommend:).

HTH:D:).
