Buck Creek Question?

I picked up a mint 1980's Buck Creek Large Trapper with yellow celluloid scales last weekend. On the main blade it says:

Buck Creek
Hand made
Solingen Germany

My question is, how much of a "grain of salt" should I take the "hand made" part?

Is it really more of a "hand assembled" or is it a complete marketing thing?

p.s. I like the knife regardless, it is very well built.

:).

Handmade= Cleaning up the knife in terms of fit, finish, and final honing is what it usually really means. Perhaps setting a rivet, that sort of thing.

Yup,

As is the usual case what Bob said. A that they are usually decently made.

Thanks folks, I have to say this thing is growing on me, I really like that it has STRONG backsprings. I seems a lot of newer slipjoints are neglecting that.
