I have an old Buck Crosslock I bought back in high school I think. Don't have it in front of me to get the model number, but it's the one with the blue handle insert and the plain edge blade on one side, serrated on the other. Loved (still love) that knife, really about the perfect setup for me having both plain and serrated blades on an easy to open and close setup. Problem is the liner locks wore out and it doesn't lock up tight anymore, to the point it rattles if you shake it. Haven't been able to find a new version (alpha?) with the same blade combo. Would anyone else buy one if they made it? I would love to see it in s30v at least and would be willing to pay a pretty penny if it was available. Anyone else? After seeing some of the cool stuff SK blades and others have sold I don't think this would be a problem to get if a dealer thought they would sell....

I might give them a call and see what they could do for the old thing but I didn't expect them to be able to do much since it's been out of production for so long. (Not knocking the knife at all) Would still really like to have an updated version in better steel. Just wondering if anyone else would too?

Thank you for the response. That is something I'll have to think about because the knife has some sentimental value.

Mr. Hubbard, has Buck considered an alpha with a serrated blade and upgraded steel like I mentioned? Custom shop maybe?

I would go for a custom Crosslock. Really an underappreciated model. I bought one about 2 yrs ago with the aluminum handle and really love it (plain blade/saw combo). Pretty great combo for a bushcrafting folder. I'd like to see a new handle design that is more comfortable (I had to file/sand all the hard edges off mine), along with a flat grind blade in 5160 or S30v.

The old style crosslock is the model 180, I also have a soft spot for that knife. The 183 Jeff was talking about is the newer style crosslock. Cabelas had an AG 183 version in S30V.

Didn't know about that Cabelas version - pretty nice but sold out. Crosslock isn't on the Buck website at all at the moment. Hope that doesn't mean it's going away.

I have the first model Crosslock single blade-got it for Christmas the year they came out. Been a great knife snd still my favorite for use.
