I have a Buck Crosslock I would like to send in to get re-sharpened. It may need to be re-edged I am not sure. This Crosslock is what I think was the original one that had two blades, one is a drop point and the other all serrated. I don't see this on their website anymore. I am particularly interested in getting the serrated blade fixed up since I do not have the tools for that. Any idea how much this would cost to have done?

Joe,
We have a sharpening service and you can send your knife in to us at:
Buck Knives
1900 Weld Blvd.
El Cajon, Ca. 92020

The cost is $6.00.

Take care,

Thanks Joe,

Now all I have to do is pry my fingers off it long enough to get it in a box to send out :)

OK I've decided I'm going to finally cough it up this weekend and send it out. Just to clarify what I would like done, and to make sure it is possible. I would like the blade sharpened, if possible to the newer edge 2000 specification. I am not sure if it is now or not. I also need the serrated blade re-sharpened. Also ever since day one the drop point blade if pulled open by force when cutting or if you flick it open the place where the liner lock crosses the back has a bit of a round to it. If the lock passes the top of the round it can be difficult to unlock to close. You can reproduce this by flicking it open. It's not nearly as bad as it was when I bought it but I figured while it was there if someone could maybe grind that straight a little or something that would be nice. Not if it will make the blade loose though. I'd rather have a tight lock than a loose blade. I will of course put this in with the knife when I send it in too. So my question is, can all that be done for the $6 or do I need to send more?… I was thinking that the re-edging might add some cost as might the repair.

jfeenin: I don't think you have anything to worry about. I've been farting around on these forums for quite awhile now, and I have never heard of anyone who wasn't fully satisfied with Buck's customer service and knife sharpening/refurbishing services. Your knife will be in great hands. :)

Oh I'm quite certain they will do an excellent job, I just want to make sure it has enough funds included to get what I want done in one shot. :)

Joe, aside from the sharpening, it sounds like the other stuff you want taken care could fall under warranty repair. In which case, there shouldn't be any extra charges :) When you send the knife in, make sure you send your phone number and email address with it and in the note ask them to contact you if there are any charges above what you send the check for. That way, you can always give them a credit card over the phone, or they can send you an invoice if needed.

I've had several knives worked on by BUCK for various reasons over the past couple years. Every single one of them has come back hair-popping sharp, clean as a whistle, and in "new - out of the box" working order. I am sure they will do the same for you !!! :D
