Hi All, Anyone collect the old Buck Crosslocks?
It's been years since they were discontinued and they are still one of my favorite EDC knives.
Easy to sharpen, comfortable handle, overall a great knife.
I'll try to get pics of my collection up tonight.

Nice!
I have never seen the red insert on the handles before, I've only seen black, green, and blue.

Thanks for sharing.

I don't quite recall the specifics, but right around 1998, the red, green, and blue were offered from Buck (through the BCCI). They were advertised as prototypes. I'm not sure how they are different than anything that showed up in stores.

Thanks for the info.....here a couple of mine.
I have sold a few and a few are missing from the family pic.

I have the camo one with the saw/guthook. It's seen a lot of hunting action, but seems to be missing for the moment. Most likely hiding in some hunting clothing that I haven't used in a while.

Hello Max, here's my 3.... I think there from 1979... ...

ITE

Crosslocks... Click on the pic to see it and again to make it bigger...

Those early crosslock are really nice, thanks for showing them.

I wish I had an old catalog of all of the models that they made back in the day.

have a great day fellas.

the cross lock is another under the radar knife!!
they are the bomb for EMT's, hunter's and campers
like others i have one or two but dont collect them..
some do and have nice collections!

I got one as a gift in 1998 or thereabouts. I did not know they were no longer in production. Mine is all black with no serrations (although I wish my gut hook had the saw on the back edge like some of the ones posted here) and no clip. I use it for hunting only, but it is great and easy to use for al sorts of work.

My first one broke with a half moon chip about the size of a quarter off of the middle of the drop point blade. I sent it back and then replaced it right away.

Nice knife.

Max, if you join the BCCI you can get access to all of the old catalogs, it's quite interesting to check out.

I never had a Crosslock, one of my bosses did and I borrowed it one time and just kept flipping it back and forth, it was mesmerizing, or maybe I'm just weird. After awhile he said, "um, you better give that back to me." I would love to get a Crosslock Deputy (the second blade was a seatbelt cutter).

I'm pretty sure i'll be picking up an Alpha Crosslock soon.
Maybe one of those Cabelas S30V versions!

got the single bladed as well as another with the gut hook model.
they are wonderful to handle.
i kept wishing for a tanto blade model, but that sadly never happened.
just as well, as i did have some reservation about just how much those early liner locks could stand up to...as with a much later buck strider tarani model.
as for the crosslocks, they remain an interesting pioneering tactical/edc design which i m proud to hang on to.
i am however not regretting the fact that i let a gold tiNi coated blade model slip me by...

Hi Guys, I've never found a Deputy model in my travles but I would have bought one if I had.
I own an Alpha crosslock (camo) and is is really nice but I have to say that I like the old crosslocks better, I feel the oldies open easier also, just my 2 cents.
One day years ago I was browsing the web and saw the Tanto model, I almost fell out of my chair, I had to have one. I instantly scoured the Internet all day calling literally dozens and dozens of companies that had them on theirs sites but they were all sold out or had not been updated, well I finally scored. This company out west had two in stock, needless to say I bought both. This was in 2002 or 2003.
About two weeks ago I sold one a ebay. SPAM REMOVED
Fella's thanks for all info I am going to also join the buck site so I can drool over all of the older models..........Have a great weekend.
