Its finally there. My survival knife. And im impressed. The Buck csar-t fixed very high quality and ridicilously sharp, as I know it from Buck.

I opened the g10 handles and I was like what? The blade is skeletonized, thats why its very front heavy and probably a good chopper. But I could store things in there and have a washer with me to open the screws.
My first g10 knife. Do you need to wear in g10? or am im the only one who thinks it isnt too grippy. but the tops thread pattern is awesome (really sharp too). (never used g10 before)

2 questions::thumbup:

Would you guys enjoy a review? Long or short?

And does the skeletonized blade decrease strength a lot, or is it still really hard to break (4.6mm thick blade)?

.... 3 questions actually. Anyways, im impressed already, but well see cause you never know

Thanks a lot.

I have one of these. It's a pretty decent knife. The handle is pretty rugged though, and I find it works better when wearing gloves. Other than that, mine came pretty sharp and seemed like a decent knife. It was actually my first "nice" fixed blade years ago. Enjoy!!

I bought a CSAR-T folder in 154CM last fall, and was very impressed. My intention was for it to ride in my "get home bag" and be glove-friendly since it's winter six months out of the year here, but I ended up downsizing my bag and going with a POS Gerber on a carabiner. Oh well, I'll find a use for the CSAR-T.

when did they change from 420hc to 154cm? I had looked at these a while back and they were all 420hc but it does say on the buck website that they are now 154cm.

You know where you at?!?! Yeah we like reviews with pictures.

calm down dude :)

Ok I will do a review after some testing with this fixed blade.

Is it likely to break on the skeletonized blade thats covered with thick g10 slabs?

Quite some time ago, not too long though. Because Buck runs his 420 hc so much it wont be all that though. But 154cm I knew it from my Buck marksman blade, works extremely well especially with the boss heat treat. So far I can recommend it, but well see after testing.

On the website it sais: WHEN YOU NEED TO SURVIVE THIS KNIFE WILL PERFORM

THE TOPS/BUCK CSAR-T IS AS HARDCORE AS IT GETS

And im like:

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

Im interested, ive been on the fence for over 2 years now for the fixed or even the folder. I would prefer a longer review that goes in depth with info rather than a short review touching on only the major categories.

Glad to hear. I hope I can help you. Maybe the review comes out tonight. Maybe in a week, really need to use it first, so I can get the idea and be honest. It was a hard choice for me as well, because there were literally no maybe 2 good reviews out there.(BTW its my first survival knife, maybe my last when it holds up)
Well see if you jump over the fence XD

At least some of the models were offered in multiple versions with different steel. My CSAR-T folder was listed as ATS-34 but ended up being 154CM. There is still a 420HC folder, although I believe the scales are different too.
