Hi, I have a buck 923 custom I'm trying to find info about, would like to find out what I have and what it's worth, it has LR stamped on blade and 0030 etched on blade, it has stag handles with a leather lanyard with a stag tip on it, thanks for any info.

Lawgger, we can't talk about the price on this part of the forum... Leroy Remer made the knife... You can call him and he can tell you
everything you need to know about it... Pictures would really help us, so we can tell you more about your knife...

Welcome to the Buck Forum by the way... ITE

Lawgger, It is a Blade Forum rule that you must have a Gold or higher membership to talk about costs and values. Selling is only allowed on the Buck forum in the sticky or Sub-forum near the top of the page. If you could post a photo you might receive a private message from one of the many good hearted souls on this forum. Until then you can search a large auction site and maybe find info out on a regular 923. The OO30 is the serial number of a limited edition, meaning you have knife 30 of however many were made. I would suggest if you intend to haunt the Buck forum or others regularly you read the fourm rules a little more. Folks here on the Buck area really enjoy photos of other peoples knives, if that is possible.

Hi Lawgger,

Values can be talked about on any forum as long as you are a paying Gold member and above. As Armand (ITE) above said if you post some photo's we can help you ID your knife. It most likely came from the old Custom shop. However, there have been some 923 LE's also.

The easy way to post a picture is to use a photo hosting site like photobucket. then copy a link to your photo and drop it into your post. I can't wait to see your knife!

Good looking knife with great stag on that side. Congratulations on posting the photo. It should be easier to post photos on the forum. Maybe the next ones will be easier for you. Next ones: other side, close ups, in your hand, tang stamp, LR marking and such. What kind of tooth is that? Thank you for posting the photo.

Hi Lawgger,

Thanks for posting your very nice looking stag 923. Your knife was made in the old Buck custom shop, the old custom shop was in operation for 1980 - 1993. As Armand said above one of the custom shop workers was Leroy Remer and he was most likely the man who made your knife, thus the LR on your blade. I took a look at the old BCCI news letters and Joe Houser put the manufacturing numbers for each model of knife made in the custom shop. There were 253 Medium Skinner's (model 923) made in the custom shop during it's operation. You can also try contacting Joe Houser at Buck and see if he can locate the exact date your knife was made.

Also, Oregon FYI that is not a tooth on the lanyard, it's an antler tip.
