Well, I've been EDC'ing this knife for two months now, seven days a week, so I thought I'd write up a quick follow-up review. After two months, the horn and nickel silver have lost their luster but gained lots of character. It's been used to eat once (a very tough brisket in a place where only butter knives were available), cut through paracord and plastic strapping, and other EDC-type chores. I've only had to retouch it once on a Knives Plus Strop Block and it came back to scary sharp. Besides the edge, I've found the rest of this knife very easy to maintain, as well. The exposed spring and open-ish construction make it very easy to blow lint and dust out with my Giotto Rocket. The occasional toothpick and hem of my shirt deal with everything else.

Here she is after two months of banging against stuff in my pocket:

It is, and you can tell. I sharpen a lot of knives and use a lot of knives. This steel is spot on.

I've always heard about Buck's HT with S30v is fantastic:thumbup: That 501 is looking great and thanks for keeping us informed and up to date, I always like follow ups.
