Just got my 501 Squire with Jigged Asian Water Buffalo scales and S30V blade from the Buck Custom Knife Shop yesterday and made a short video review. Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful knife :)
In closed position rocker bar is not flush with the back of the handle, like in my regular Squire. Could you check if the blade can be pushed into the handle in your knife, so it hits the backspacer?

Hi Cali,

Yes, I consider that a design flaw. The design is such that nothing prevents the edge from being compressed into the spring/tension-bar. Honestly, I think the Case Copperlock is the ultimate lockback design, but unfortunately they don't make it anymore except in special runs, and they dont offer it in S30V.

I have one of these ordered, but with wood handles. How long did it take for you to get the knife from the time you first placed your order?

My case is special since I'm at a special address that takes a LONG time for mail to arrive. I don't know. But if I remember correctly, on average, it takes them about a month to finish a CKS order (this is not my first Buck CKS knife).

IMO it is a serious design flaw and I am surprised that Buck hasn't corrected it for the decades of manufacturing :(

Mine came today, and it is a nice knife. It is well-worth the asking price.
While all is not perfect, it is pretty close. Lockup is tight and the blade is perfectly centered.
If the custom shop offered a 112, I'd be in for one.
