Just got my 501 Squire with Jigged Asian Water Buffalo scales and S30V blade from the Buck Custom Knife Shop. The factory edge was perfectly fine but coarse, so I put my own edge on (that's why the bevel is even and the edge looks polished). I'm very happy with the work of the Custom Knife Shop. Hope you enjoy the pics.

EDIT: added tabletop review video here:

Excellent lockback folder. It turned out like a hand in a glove, perfect fit and finish. The scale pins offer some protection to the richly worked beautiful black horn scales. What a fine tool to have with you. The S30V would have been my choice also. Well done and thank you for the photos. Love it. Bravo Buck.

Terrific utube video. Watchable, great narration, not too long, excellent close-ups via loupe and enjoyed seeing stone-based sharpening @ the end.

Missed the agonizing self-examination over the pin vs no pin thru the scales decision. I've taken months upon grinding months to make such a decision. I usually go pinless because of visual appeal and no chance of splitting the scale from the pin.

Very much appreciate your kind comments. :D I put my heart and soul into it when I make a pic, vid, or review.

MG,

That's one sweet little CS you scored! I like the fact you got a BCCI blade, must have been a left over from the Heritage 501 club knife.

Ha! I didn't even realize that's what it was until I googled BCCI. I guess it was a blade from the limited run. That makes it even more unique!
