Sorry 'bout the title. Anyway, I have a Buck Rush 290 PLT & after some hurricane Ike repairs in the dirt, I ignored Buck's advice & tried a self-repair. The knife had sand in it & I took it apart & cleaned it up & got it back together with the AO springs working fine. Then I noticed one of the teflon sleeves lying on the bench. Doh! I opened it again & that time one of the springs decided to take a trip around the garage. I heard it hit three places before it landed somewhere?? Well I told Buck my sad story & asked for them to make it right & charge me an appropriate dumb-ass penalty. Well without any fanfare or explanation, they fixed the knife & charges me $0. "Bill To: WARRANTY". Thank you Buck! I don't know how common this is, but it certainly made an impression on me & as a result I may just go out & buy another Buck Knife today.
I know that the American manufacturers are known for good customer service in most industries & I am glad to see it is true in the knife business.
