buck cutlery...

Those are the paper stones, aren't they? I think I like those better you can put them in the DW. Look real nice!! The steak looks better though!! Ha!Ha! Nice Set of Knives!! I'll have to wait for the next sale...

yes Sir. the paperstone ones. part of the reason i got them over the wood versions. wife might use the dishwasher on them if i dont watch her.:)

thanks. so far ive been impressed. all came with really great fit and finish. came sharp with good primary bevels. far better than most of the kitchen cutlery brands ive owned.

I bought the 13 pc set for my wife a couple years ago. Really wanted the stag set and they used to be much less than they are now.
The dishwasher will make the handles look dried out.

jbm, excuse me for missing this. I'm sooo glad you got your bride a Buck kitchen cutlery set. They are nice knives and better than many other
brands. We've owned ours for nearly 10 years and I have no complaints. Seems like when we got ours they were like $250. Which is only 21$ a knife. The steel sharpens up quick and they cut nice. You expect a kitchen
knife to sharpen quick and loose that edge fairly quick. But these hold it better than most brands I come across of commercial grade cutlery.
She usually asks me to sharpen them once a month. I will tune them by stropping or back-honing at mid-month. This really cuts down on the
stone work. I know she'll enjoy them for the rest of your lives. The steak looked delicious too. DM

no bother Sir.

they werent much more on the sale. around $25.08 a knife including block shipping and tax. so 19.5% increase in 10 years. yes Sir shes real happy now. sharp cutlery out of the box with geometry that works. even got her to donate her old set she had before we married to charity that were junk and i hated keeping up with. so win win for me.:)

it was likely over cooked for most but i like 'em that way. :)

jbm, we had a similar supper. I smoked a point cut brisket, she added a baked potato and a fancy salad. Which contained walnuts, croutons
and cranberries. Man!
I added the Empress Trio knife set with ours. A his and her kitchen cutlery. So, we have enough knives that everybody's happy. DM :)

jbm, has your wife used them a little more? Wondering what she still thinks. DM
yes Sir. she's used most of them. she still is loving them. she hasnt used the spreader yet though.

shes sitting here with me as i type...... so i asked her and her comment was....."our bad hard water stains them, but i love them."

she really dislikes my refusal to water softeners. i grew up with the lime hard water down here and prefer it to soft....but she grew up with water softeners and well...its a nonstop discussion back and forth.:)

On my Grandfathers farm we had to rinse twice to get the soap off. Here only once. My Bama girl got used to it. She has to scrub the shower doors and me the metal facets. We have filtered water for making coffee. Which is great. Everything else is the mineral water. Still, not bad
for washing dishes. Glad she still likes them. DM
