A forum member here got me one and I'll say it's fantastic for everything,kitchen use,hunting,even boning out. Meat it really is a great all around knife,the d2steel seems to be very good at holding an edge,I've only touched mine up on a steel and leather strop in 2years of using it,love this knife!
The Buck 118 is one of my favorite Buck Knives and has logged many miles with me. Mine is the older one with the flap sheath and I find it the perfect size, much bigger and it gets left in the truck, much smaller and it gets left at home. You did a great pick.
