I got this Buck,Damascus,NS,Stag,110, from our Brother Goose as a gift.
What a gift.

I used it to skin and quarter up 3, bucks for the cooler. This Buck cuts
hair and deer hide like mad. It cuts up meat even better. It was still going strong after that 3rd deer. What a knife. Thanks Goose you are the greatest.

Great action photos Hawk. Nice buck. I've not used any of my damascus blades. Nice to know they work!

I have actually been sharpening some of my 110's while sitting in the stand hunting. I had been lazy about touching up the S30V's knowing I have the two 118 D2's...

and believe it or not... I don't even have a 121 with me...grrrr... thats an oops when I was gearing up to come out here.

SAY,,, another tidbit. Mom kept asking me how many knives I had left in her drawer. Told her I thought there were three of the rubber handled 470 ones but she was saying there were 4.

So I went and looked and I forgot I had left her a Vanguard S30V rubber handle, last year. I asked her if it was still sharp and she said it was. Will be interesting to check it out and see how it has held up a year later in a kitchen. Particularly interested in seeing how it has held up in the dishwasher, as I know she hasn't washed it by hand. More on that one later. Maybe I found a home for one of those droppies...:D

Great buck,I see you discovered what i learned about Bucks' Damascus too!Its awesome as a user!,and takes that wicked edge i like to put on em'

COOL. Nice gift! It is great that you put it to good use and interesting to hear that the damascus is a good performer.

Congrats!

Larry, I can't believe you don't have a 121 with you.:D
Maybe your Mom likes the droppies as much as my brother-in-law.He is still crowing about his Vanguard after 5 years of deer camp work.I don't think
he does his in the dishwasher .:D
Let us know how that 118,D2 works out for you.
good luck hunting.

For really bloody work I'd go with a fixed blade,a folder is hard to clean 100%...

Well I have been told that Bucksway. :)But the whole deal with this knife was to get it off the desk of a Buck brother and get it into the Meat .hide and hair cutting mode.At the deer lease.:eek:I understand where you are coming from and I did clean it very good and oiled it also. But if and when I do go hunting again it will be with me.
Thanks
