I have a Buck 110V, Damascus blade with stag handle and chrome color bolsters with no pins or escutcheon plate. I was wondering how many of these knives were made and when? Also, any ideas as to the value? I have not seen others like it. Thank you.

I`d recommend taking a look at www.usedknives.com for some comps. I`m sure WinDancer will have an opinion as to the value of your specific knife. I know he lists his damascus 110`s at around $300. But what you ask for and what you get are sometimes very different!

I did some research and we made almost 15000 of those knives from 1989 to 1992. The "V" is a date code for 1989. The knife had a sugessted retail of about $160 and i have seen them advertised in the $250 range.
It would be interesting to see what it would cost to have one made in Pete's Custom Knife Shoppe.
Hope this helps,

Hi Whalen

That one is a keeper! These Damascus beauties are my favs. "Price" and "Value", however, are beyond my expertise.

I would buy the next dozen I could find for $125.00. I wouldn't take any less than $300.00 for any of mine. Just my humble opinion

There are lots of folks in this forum who have a more structured idea of the current value.

I just received my latest from the Custom Shop [posted with a pic a few days ago, on this forum] and it was a Damascus blade with silver bolsters and no pin with Water Buffalo scales. Out the door with shipping and all was right at $150.00. I wouldn't take less than $300.00 for this one, either.

Enjoy your Buck knife, Whalen. It is a terrific knife! If you get tired of it I would be happy to trade a brand-new standard 110 straight across to help you out

And thanks for the plug, Steve, but please don't set me up as a value expert. I just know what I would pay and what I would sell for.

Sorry, Dave. I didn`t mean to set you up as an "expert" on knife values, but you do seem to have a more than passing knowledge of custom 110`s! Placing a value on a knife (or ANY collectable item, for that matter) is, at best, an inexact science. I`d rather hear from a person who is active in the market TODAY, than read from a book that went to print a year ago. Besides your being active in the market, you also seem to have a very focused collection, that being Buck 110`s. You seemed a very logical reference for any custom 110 questions. I know I`d value your opinion on any 110 questions I might have. Who knows, maybe you ARE an expert and you don`t even know it!

Many thanks to all who replied. I now have a much better idea as to the value of this knife. I do not have many folders, but this sure is a nice one!

I am sorry but I cant seem to find that used knives place i tried evenadding http before it but I still cant access it???

MICKEY77,

Whew! I thought I was the only one having trouble getting to that site. I've seen it referred to in several posts. But every time I use the link, or type in the address, I get nowhere. Maybe the site doesn't really exist and they're just messing with us. (Just kidding)

Dave

Computers are sooooo fussy! We all knew where we wanted to go all along- but the correct site name is "Usedknife" and not "Usedknives". Try the link below and see if that is better.....

Thanks,
Dave Evans
